If you don’t want to display portfolio as homepage then you can choose any other page as homepage. Some business people prefer to display contacts, product details and blog posts. Those people who just want to display work sample can surely follow same homepage style as shown in demo.
If you check front-page then it shows “Portfolio” template as homepage. Hence, every project that you add from portfolio listing area will appear directly over there. If you add another page as homepage then “Portfolio” page will be shown as extra section like blog page. The left region shows header area with fixed design. So user can see logo, widgets, and menus all the time while scrolling.
You can insert custom logo as image to represent your brand, or just add text. Because the header is shown on the left of the page, you will see menu links in vertical style. Whatever page or category links you add on Primary Menu is shown on the navigation bar. In addition, you will see additional widget area below menu bar.
